These bright Bromeliads are from the Cryptanthus genus and they thrive in humid conditions. They are known for being tricky, but only if you put them in direct sunlight and allow them to dry out too much. They are naturally a rain forest ground dweller and are used to the shade of big trees, so sunlight directly on their leaves can cause them to bleach and dry out. Remember to keep them well watered, but never allow them to sit in water for too long. Spray misting them during the long Canadian winter will help too!
